I want to do an occupation game. German occupation troops against the resistance with civilians of mixed and often undecided loyalties. Resistance have to keep their identity hidden whilst building their forces and sabotaging the German war effort. Germans have to route out the hidden resistance and bring them down whilst protecting key assets. The civilians are there to confuse matters and assist whoever they see fit, according to their individual loyalties and aims.
That could be very interesting, though we've found a bit of a resistance to more 'roleplaying' themed games in the past, as there'd be very little trigger-time for any players, and certain civs would have no active part at all, for it to be realistic.
There would indeed be very little trigger time, especially if the resistance are armed with what I'd like them to be to begin with- a single pistol between them. They would have arm themselves before they could carry out any offensive action, through stealing, assasinations or by contacting SOE- one of whom would be hidden amngst the civilans. Some of the civilians may not have as much of an active part to play but there would still enough to keep them occupied. So yes it would be very role playing heavy which isn't everyones cup of tea but I'm sure there a those that would be interested though.

Absolutely, myself and Gadge for certain. As much as i enjoy shooting people, i do think there's a place for more roleplaying-style events, but i don't think the numbers are there yet to make it viable.
I must admit that after Alsos, I've had enough of dealing with annoying civilians. ![]()
Me like shooty-shooty!

You could always just have the large number of civilians part of the event for an hour or two? So it's just an episode rather than the whole day? Would mean that a civilian won't have to spend the whole day on a bicycle wearing onions.

Ditto.
As much as do love LARPing, I love shooty, shooty even more. Oh, the LARPing I really like involves no combat at all.
"Where's the captain?"
"He's dead, again."

Didn't you see my "turnip bomb" and "Cabbage grenade" at Alsos? I killed some yanks with them as well!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Looking to get some additional use out of my Russian kit now I've gone to town on it! lol
Stalingrad and any Ost front game would be nice, perhaps some summer woodland style games would be nice.
There are so many Eastern front games that could be tapped into, make France '44 a thing of the past at least for a while! ![]()

altering any kind of pyro from its facory spec is illegal
even if it just involves a turnip covering, this does increase explosive force (anything wrapped round explosive increases its force , but a plastic bag of water is best for an inert substance, and a bag of custard powder for an active substance)

I actually didn't hear about this, Pete - you must regale me with tales of vegetable deaths!
